This is Annie Leibovitz, she was born in Waterburry, Connecticut on October 2, 1949. Growing up she like writing and playing music in the Philippines. That is also where she first started taking photos. She studied Photography at the San Francisco Art Institute.
She started her career with Rolling Stone Magazine as a staff Photographer in 1970. Then in 1973, Jann Wenner, Publisher of the Rolling Stone's Magazine, made her Chief Photographer, which she held for ten years. Her work with Rolling Stone Magazine helped form the look the Magazine was going for. In 1983 she started work for Vanity Fair after leaving Rolling Stone magazine. In 2009 she was awarded the Royal Photographic Society's Century Medal and Honorary Fellowship (HonFRPS) due to her contribution of art in photography.
Her inspirations were Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon also inspired herwith his portraits. In 1978 she was the first female to ever photograph Armatrading for an album cover To the Limit and Steppin' Out. In 2011 she was nominated for the Asia Pacific Photographer of the year. She has also done a lot of photographs for celebrities, the Queen of England, and for Disney.
This photo is probably her most famous photo. It features Yoko Ono and John Lennon just hours before his murder. (taken in 1980 for Rolling Stone's magazine)
This photo of Miley Cyrus was very controversial when it was released. (Taken in 2008)
